See it differently
You see the world through a unique lens and that’s exactly what we need. We embrace how you see things differently – it’s essential for creating a sustainable future.
Arup is a global consultancy with advisory and technical expertise across more than 150 disciplines. We guide, plan and design the future of the built environment. Globally, each year we recruit hundreds of graduates to help us see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients, climate and communities.
The Asset & Operations team is part of the Advisory Services Portfolio in Arup. We help clients solve business and operational challenges, make informed decisions and implement better, more sustainable solutions.
We are engineers, business strategists, logisticians, planners, asset consultants, and innovation experts, and work hand in hand with Arup's range of technical experts, developing multi-disciplinary insights and opportunities that other consultants miss. We focus on people, technology & systems, processes and detailed knowledge of their physical assets, to implement solutions that encompass sustainability and innovation.
Sitting at the intersection between the built environment and the people who use and experience it, we advise and deliver solutions for asset-intensive client organisations operating in the UK and beyond in a wide range of markets including Energy, Highways, Aviation, Rail, Science and Industry, Property, Water and Healthcare.
The Opportunity
On this 12-week Summer Internship you will be working on real life meaningful projects, adding value to clients, while exploring challenges alongside a diverse range of skilled colleagues.
You'll learn from others and begin creating your professional network ready for when you graduate. There are regular learning sessions, opportunities to directly input and make a difference to significant projects, and networking and social events that will support your learning and development. This includes our Connect Networks, employee-led groups organised by and for members around a shared identity, interest, or background which play an important role in our firm's commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, by raising awareness, educating and building a shared sense of purpose.
Our aim is to welcome as many students as possible back into our other future programmes be that another internship or potential graduate position. This placement is the stepping-stone to your future.
A career at Arup offers you the chance to make a positive difference in the world. Independently owned and independently minded, Arup is a collective of designers, consultants and experts working globally. Founded to be humane and excellent, we collaborate with our clients and partners to shape a better world.
Is this role right for you?
We're looking for:
Changemakers: A passion for sustainable development and creating a better world is key.
Innovative minds: We're looking for critical thinkers who embrace new ideas and challenge the status quo.
Growth seekers: You have a growth mindset, always eager to learn and explore new ways of working.
Adaptable adventurers: You're ready to take on any challenge that comes your way.
If you can combine these skills with an understanding of (or a willingness to learn about) Asset Management, and how clients can manage their operations to ensure their assets meet expectations, and can be operated and maintained efficiently, we would like to hear from you.
You will be working towards a degree level qualification at a predicted grade of a 2:1 or higher in any discipline.
You should be able to start this opportunity in Summer 2026.
