About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Summer Student to join our well-established team in our London office. The Summer Student will work with a group of specialist consultancy teams specialising in acoustics, theatre architecture and design, lighting, fire, inclusive environments, virtual and visualisation, and building performance systems. Within Arup these teams are known collectively as the Technology Group. This is an excellent opportunity for a student who is enthusiastic and who has some existing knowledge and interest about some elements of our Technology work to join a multi-disciplinary environment for 6 weeks this summer.

You will work with our Technology marketing coordinator to support our teams to deliver an effective and professional marketing service to the Technology Group. You will assist in:

  • Updating and strengthening project information:
    • Gathering and summarising in written form information about our projects for future use on our website (, internal databases, client presentations and bid documents
    • Locating and securing permission for the storage and use of professional images of our projects and uploading these to our internal image library for future use on our website, in social media posts and in client presentations and bid documents
  • Client data:
    • Assist teams in updating client data and managing data uploads to our client relationship management (CRM) system
    • Develop a list of clients with team leaders suitable for future client feedback interviews
  • Events
    • Assist with event planning and delivery
    • Research industry events with a focus on identifying events for potential attendance and speaking .

About You

We're looking for students with curiosity, personal drive and digital skills.

We're looking for the following qualifications, attributes and skills:

  • Strong A-levels (or equivalent) at Grade B or above
  • Studying toward a degree or higher education qualification in performing arts, design, humanities and/or social sciences
  • Demonstrate strong interest in one or more of the Technology disciplines listed above and/or a commitment to pursuing a career in marketing, communications or business development
  • Ideally graduating in Summer 2021 or 2022.
