The Opportunity 

You will be joining a growing and diverse group of climate change specialists who form part of the Climate and Sustainability Services Portfolio. This portfolio comprises enthusiastic staff (based in offices across the UK and worldwide) working on a wide variety of research, consultancy, analysis and design work for major projects and clients across the built environment and other market sectors.  

Our teams are  at the forefront of helping organisations to evaluate the specific climate and sustainability issues they are facing and how they can transition to low carbon and a resource efficient future. Our advice spans environmental, energy and sustainability expertise, economic planning, business strategy and regulatory compliance.   

Right now, we're looking Graduate Climate Change Specialists to join our team of bright professionals across our offices in the UK. From your first day, you'll join an unrivalled community of experts, where everyone is supported in their career path and encouraged to work towards a professional qualification.   

 

Our Climate advisory teams are looking for graduate consultants who want to develop skills across all areas of the business. This includes but isn't limited to:  

  • Understanding climate change impact and risk assessments 
  • Climate science and its application to real world problems 
  • Adaptation and resilience strategy development 
  • Carbon and greenhouse gas emissions assessment 
  • Carbon and greenhouse gas reduction advice 
  • Circular economy business model development and design strategies 

Specifically, work is likely to include: 

  • Supporting the delivery of client projects across different economic sectors, markets (transport, water, cities) and geographies (local, regional, national and global)  
  • Supporting the delivery of climate change impacts and risk assessments including analysis of climate change data and projections
  • Advisory on adaptation and climate resilience for a wide range of infrastructure, built environment or corporate clients
  • Support to climate change strategy and awareness of climate policy and how it impacts clients
  • Involvement in carbon and greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions assessment and projection, inventories development, and offsets design

 

 Is this role right for you? 

  • Educated to degree level in engineering, science, environment, geography, sustainability, digital/data analytics, or economics related course (2:1 or equivalent) and/or post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject.  
  • Enthusiasm for a career in climate change and carbon and resilience, underpinned by a knowledge and understanding of our sector and work. 
  • Experience in reading and interpreting legislation, policy and standards 
  • A desire to work in multidisciplinary teams as projects often require coordination with other colleagues, institutions and clients to deliver projects around the world.
