The Opportunity
Our world-leading security team has developed an enviable reputation for innovation based on a risk-based approach to successfully develop the technical solutions of some of the world's most complex buildings and structures. These include tall buildings, transport infrastructure, medical facilities, education and stadia.
Working within and outside mandatory codes of practice in a risk-based framework, you will need to understand the strategy behind the proposed mitigation and prepare designs to meet these requirements. At the outset of a project, you will be part of the team responsible for producing Security Needs Assessment and Threat Vulnerability and Risk Assessments, supported by our threat specialists, which will assist our clients to develop their operational requirements which will inform the physical and operational design requirements.

Arup's blast engineers have designed some of the world's leading buildings to withstand terrorist attacks. Our resilience, security and risk practice has consistently been at the forefront of the field since it was formed in the mid-1990s. The practice brings together threat specialists, physical and electronic security engineers, operational security specialists and blast engineers in a unique multi-disciplinary environment, helping our clients manage malicious risk, natural hazards and operational reliability in each aspect of their businesses and operations.
We're looking for the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:
Masters degree in Engineering Science, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Structural Engineering with Architecture, on track to achieve a 2:1/60% or above

Arup's Security Advisory team has advised on mitigating security risks to some of the world's leading buildings and infrastructure projects to help deliver secure and resilient assets and operations.
Our Resilience, Security and Risk practice has consistently been at the forefront of the field since it was formed in the mid-1990s. The practice brings together threat and risk specialists, physical and electronic security engineers, strategic operational security specialists, business continuity practitioners and blast engineers in a unique multi-disciplinary environment, helping our clients manage malicious risk, natural hazards and operational reliability in each aspect of their businesses and operations.
For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:
A master's degree in a relevant academic discipline, such as politics, security, criminology, crime science, international relations or security risk management

A degree in system, electrical, electronic, IT & communications systems or aeronautical engineering, on track to achieve a 2:1/60% or higher
