We solve the world's most complex problems and deliver what seems impossible. We explore challenges with curiosity and creativity - using technology, imagination and rigour to deliver remarkable outcomes.

The Opportunity

You will join a community of experts, where you will find a nurturing environment that fosters your growth. In the initial years of your career with us, you will benefit from guidance, mentorship, and opportunities to refine your skills, gain valuable experience, and cultivate your confidence as a budding Chartered Surveyor. A distinct advantage of joining our team lies in the extensive scope of our work, granting you exposure to diverse projects across various disciplines within advisory services. This diversity enables you to pinpoint your specialised area of interest and expertise.

From day one, you'll assume significant responsibilities and play a pivotal role, collaborating within high-performing teams, providing support to senior members, and delivering proficient and client-centric services. Your involvement will grant you a firsthand understanding of our commitment to excellence.

This role serves as a gateway to exceptional career advancement and skill development in the field of quantity surveying and cost advisory. Our roles also offer exciting travel opportunities, through various types of assignments and our early career development exchange programme.

Is the role right for you?

We encourage our Cost Managers to demonstrate drive and motivation, a passion for our sector, and a desire to effectively deliver an excellent service to our clients. With a busy, diverse team, you will need to be flexible to respond to the needs of our clients.

For this opportunity, we are seeking a graduate consultant into the Cost Management team with the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

  • A degree that is RICS accredited and surveying-based (essential)
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally
  • Great reasoning and analytical skills
  • Demonstrate initiative and a creative approach to problem solving
  • Ambition to further your professional development and work towards achieving Chartership

We're looking for people who are curious and ready to evolve how you think and work.  Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. If you can share your knowledge and ideas and encourage others to do the same; whilst having a desire to deliver excellent services for clients – we'd like to hear from you.

You should be able to start this opportunity in September 2024.
