This is an exciting opportunity for you to work in a team which combines innovative digital solutions and processes with our domain expertise across the built environment. Working with experienced domain and digital specialists, you'll help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients. While you'll have a great deal of responsibility from day one, we'll give you the chance to take on more as you progress and broaden your skills and competencies as software developer or data analyst.

You will be working with experienced engineers and data scientists developing parametric and optimised designs to apply to all aspects of infrastructure design (including the design of bridges, highways, foundations and railways).

You will be working with a team of developers, data scientists, user experience designers to create platforms, tools and data visualisations. You will often collaborate with a variety of other practitioners on projects including Bridge engineers, highways engineers and geotechnical engineers. Digital is a growing part of our business, and we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about shaping the future of design in the built environment.

You will also be involved in the development of new design and analysis tools and cloud enabled digital services for clients. You will assist in automating and optimising our existing design workflows.

You will provide support to team members to deliver an effective and professional service to our clients. Due to the multi-disciplinary nature of our design teams, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experts.

About you

We're looking for graduates with curiosity, personal drive and technical knowhow.

We're looking for the following qualifications, attributes and skills:

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in ideally in engineering, economics, science, mathematics, and data / computer science with a preference for students on track to achieving a 2.1 or above
  • Competency in data analysis, data engineering and data management (Data Analyst)
  • Competency in programing / scripting (software developer).
  • Have an analytical thought process, understanding of statistical analysis and mathematical modelling techniques
  • Experience of relational and/or non-relational database design and implementation, object orientated programming and of source control would be desirable.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Demonstrate a creative and innovative approach to problem solving, with a natural curiosity and ability to understand the bigger picture
  • The aptitude to work on your own initiative and be proactive
  • Planned and organised in your approach to work and meeting deadlines
  • Flexible to the needs of the business and committed to the successful delivery of projects, meeting the needs of our clients, the development of the team and business as a whole
  • Team player, able to integrate in an international and multidisciplinary team
  • Able to start September 2020
