A Future with purpose

At Arup we’re dedicated to sustainable development and to do socially useful work that has meaning. Our purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

We solve the world's most complex problems and deliver what seems impossible. We explore challenges with curiosity and creativity - using technology, imagination and rigour to deliver remarkable outcomes.

The Opportunity:

Our Environmental teams offer a multidisciplinary service and are looking for Graduates with diverse skills and interests. From your first day you'll join an unrivalled community of experts, where you will be supported and mentored. You'll help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high- profile clients. You'll have a good level of responsibility from day one which will increase as you progress and broaden your skills.

This role would be within our North and North West Yorkshire Climate and Sustainability Services team, working with disciplines who specialise in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Sustainability, Ecology, Air Quality, Noise and Environmental and Water & Land Scientists.

Typical day-to-day responsibilities will vary as you will be supporting our environment, nature and climate teams. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, conducting desk and/or site studies, including sourcing and evaluating environmental information; coordination of internal colleagues and external sub-consultants; collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams comprising clients, internal specialists and sub-consultants; preparation of clear and concise statutory and non-statutory environmental reports, permits, licenses and consents in line with legislative requirements; ecological surveys; use of ArcGIS and other software to produce high quality drawings to accompany technical reports.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for individuals with a bachelor's and/or master's degree in an environmental related topic (minimum 2.1/60%) including, but not limited to, Environmental Sciences, Geography, Environmental Studies, Environmental Health, Ecology, Biodiversity, Sustainabilty and other environmental related subjects.

We're looking for people who are curious and ready to evolve how you think and work. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. If you can share your knowledge and ideas and encourage others to do the same; whilst having a desire to deliver excellent services for clients – we'd like to hear from you.

You should be able to start this opportunity in September 2024.
