The Opportunity

 

We use our knowledge and expertise to offer our clients a broad spectrum of consulting services including, but not limited to, the following:   

  • Strategic advice on a wide range of proposals for inclusive economic growth and regeneration for private and public sector and Central Government clients both within the UK and globally   
  • Green Book compliant business cases for various projects across regeneration 
  • Economic analysis and modelling  
  • Vision and Strategies for development sites   
  • Project delivery advice  
  • Project management  
  • Stakeholder engagement and management of the consultation process   

Development opportunities include, but are not limited to, economic modelling training, investment case training, and project management.  

Our Cities Advisory and Economics experts work side by side with specialists and in multi-disciplinary teams from a wide range of backgrounds, including urban planning, foresight, energy, engineering, and advisory teams. Many of our projects are boundary pushing and of strategic significance.  We work hard to foster good relationships with everyone– including national governments, regional partnerships or agencies, local planning authorities, private corporations, and developers as well as the wider community and stakeholders. Some of our current clients include Homes England, Manchester Airports Group, Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, various Local Authorities, Scale-up Institute, and Welsh Government. 

Our Cities Advisory and Economics team address the challenges and opportunities faced by our towns and cities improving the places we live, our infrastructure, the economy, society, and the environmentWe make a tangible impact in the places where we and our clients work and invest, demonstrating meaningful changes on the ground. 

 

Is the role right for you?

 

We're looking for the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:   

  • Either graduated or graduating in 2024 with a prediction or having already achieved a of 2:1 or higher (or equivalent) in a subject relevant to our work, such as Economics, Geography, Town, Urban, Spatial or Regional Planning, Social Policy, Politics, Economics, Law, Property, Real Estate, Local government and Policy Making or Psychology.  
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in Microsoft 365.    
  • Demonstrate strong motivation and passion for a career in the built environment.   
  • Possess strong team working skills while having the ability to use own initiative.  
  • Be planned and organised in your approach to work and meeting deadlines.   
  • Be willing to learn and develop as opportunities present themselves.   
  • Possess data analytical skills.  
  • Mapping skills using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) (preferred). 
  • Please note the team is based in Manchester and therefore this is the preference for location, however we are open to the successful candidate being based in Leeds or Sheffield.
