The Opportunity
This is an exciting time for the transport sector as governments look to evolve their existing transport infrastructure to address changing travel patterns, emerging technologies and the challenges presented by climate change. Arup is playing a lead role with a range of clients, both in the UK and internationally, to develop innovative transport solutions for the future; from major highways projects to multi-modal transport solutions and active travel improvements. Around the world, we are helping national road operators plan for connected and autonomous vehicles on their networks by advising on key investment decisions, transitional commitments and trialling new technologies.
Our core skills in the Highways & Active Travel team range from geometric alignment design, surface water drainage design and building of intelligent 3D models; through to stakeholder engagement and project management. We are looking for candidates with an appetite to develop their engineering, digital and management abilities whilst working on large multi-disciplinary projects from feasibility stage through to construction.
Is this role right for you?
From the outset you will be supporting the successful delivery of projects, building relationships within the team and across the wider Arup community. Typical day to day tasks will include researching and analysing engineering problems to develop technical solutions that meet the requirements of the project and the client; utilising specialist software to create 3D models and undertake clash detection; supporting the management of projects through financial and progress reporting; as well as participating in technical workshops and client meetings. This varied experience alongside working for a range of different clients will provide a well-balanced start to your professional career.
We are looking for candidates with a degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
