Interested In This Role?

Please be aware that we can only accept one application during each recruitment period, so please only apply for the position that suits you best. If you decide to apply for a different role, please withdraw your first application before submitting the new one.

We are unable to offer Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship for this role. Therefore, you must ensure that you are eligible to work in the UK for the duration of the apprenticeship opportunity without our sponsorship in order for your application to be considered.

Launch your career with Arup:

Dedicated to sustainable development, Arup is a collective of designers, consultants and experts working globally. Founded to be humane and excellent, we collaborate with our clients and partners using imagination, technology, and rigour to shape a better world.

From your first day you'll join a welcoming community of experts, where everyone is supported in their career and encouraged to work towards an accredited qualification. You'll help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients.

Our Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeships:

Our apprenticeships allow you to study for industry-recognised qualifications whilst earning a competitive salary. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a college, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on. A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development. Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeships have a typical duration of three years, during which you will attain both a professional and academic qualification to further your career. Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, so you'll continue to progress with Arup once you've completed your course.

What we're looking for:

We're looking for apprentices that are curious about the built and natural environment and are committed to their personal development.  We'll teach you the skills and technical knowledge that you need for a rewarding career in design and professional services, where you'll be part of a collaborative team that delivers excellence for our clients.

You should be available to start this opportunity no later than September 2023.

Business Administration Apprenticeship

We are looking for a Business Administration apprentice to join our team.  From your first day you will join a community of experts, where everyone is supported in their career path and encouraged to work towards an accredited qualification.  You will help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients. While you will have a great deal of responsibility from day one, we will give you the chance to take on more as you progress and broaden your skills.  As a Business Administration Apprentice in Arup, you will work within a team providing business administration assistance to internal customers (engineers, planners and other design professionals) and external clients.  Our projects vary in size, location and complexity.  For example, they may involve highways, airports, ports, rail schemes or new office/retail/residential developments.  As part of your apprenticeship, you'll study towards a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration with one of our approved training providers.

We are looking for candidates with five or more GCSEs at grade C/4/5 or above including Maths (Grade B/5/6 or above), English and Science or their equivalent

Transport Planning Apprenticeship

As Transport Planners our work engages with all modes of transport, from walking and cycling to rail planning, station design and airport access across the UK and globally. Our apprentices work across all aspects of our business, including supporting planning applications through the decision-making and post-decision processes, preliminary access and operational design advice, large-scale data analysis using a range of industry standard software and strategic transport advice for commercial and public sector clients.  Our transport planning experts work side by side with specialists from a wide range of backgrounds, including environmental, planning and civil engineering. Many of our projects are boundary pushing and nationally significant. We work hard to foster good relationships with everyone involved in the planning process – including national governments, regional partnerships or agencies, local planning authorities and developers as well the wider community and stakeholders.

We are looking for candidates with five or more GCSEs at grade C/4/5 or above including Maths (Grade B/5/6 or above), English and Science or their equivalent

What we offer you:

Beyond a great salary and stimulating work, Arup offers a range of additional benefits to its people.  As a membership organisation, everyone shares in our success through a global profit share scheme. Our people also have access to a range of broader wellbeing benefits.

You'll have access to lots of learning opportunities including a structured Welcome Programme and ongoing development through Arup University.

Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to utilise your skills to improve the lives of the most vulnerable in the communities in which we live and work through Arup's Community Engagement programme.

Next steps:

Complete the application form, attaching any required documents. You will be asked for your role preference as part of this form. We'll be reviewing applications on a rolling basis.
