See it differently

You see the world through a unique lens and that’s exactly what we need. We embrace how you see things differently – it’s essential for creating a sustainable future.

Arup is a global consultancy with advisory and technical expertise across more than 150 disciplines. We guide, plan and design the future of the built environment. Globally, each year we recruit hundreds of graduates to help us see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients, climate and communities.

A future with purpose

At Arup we're dedicated to sustainable development and to do socially useful work that has meaning. Our purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

We solve the world's most complex problems and deliver what seems impossible. We explore challenges with curiosity and creativity - using technology, imagination and rigour to deliver remarkable outcomes.

Our Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship

Our apprenticeships allow you to study for industry-recognised qualifications whilst earning a competitive salary. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a university, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on. A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development. Level 6 Degree Apprenticeships have a typical duration of 3– 6 years, during which you will attain both a professional and academic qualification to further your career. Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, so you'll continue to progress with Arup once you've completed your course.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Apprentice to join our team. You will join a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians who design buildings and infrastructure projects. Your projects will be varied, and could range from airports, rail buildings, commercial buildings or residential, and you would be working on each for a period that could span several months as we develop through the design stages.

The role is creative, requiring the application of maths and physics to real-world problems. You will work together with engineering teams and architects to design efficient building services designs that bring buildings to life and make them comfortable and safe spaces to be. Examples of activities you might carry out include lighting design, assessment of cable calculations, lift analysis, fire alarm and small power design. Alongside the University content, we will provide on-the-job training to help being the theory to life, and enable you to deliver real work on real projects from the very beginning of your career with us.

The University you attend will in all likelihood be London South Bank.

We are looking for candidates with A Level Maths at Grade B or above (or equivalent), plus two A Levels at Grade C or above OR a relevant Level 3 qualification/apprenticeship.

Is this role right for you?

We're looking for apprentices who are curious and ready to evolve how they think and work

Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. If you can share your knowledge and ideas and encourage others to do the same; whilst having a desire to deliver excellent services for clients – we'd like to hear from you.

You should be able to start this opportunity no later than September 2026.

Please note we are unable to offer Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship for this role. Therefore, you must ensure that you are eligible to work in the UK for the duration of the apprenticeship opportunity without our sponsorship in order for your application to be considered.
