Our Level 4 Advanced Apprenticeships 

Our apprenticeships allow you to study for industry-recognised qualifications whilst earning a competitive salary. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a college, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on. A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development. Level 4 Apprenticeships have a typical duration of two or three years, during which you will attain both a professional and academic qualification to further your career. Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, so you'll continue to progress with Arup once you've completed your course

 

The Opportunity  

We're looking for an Information Management Apprentice to join our Road & Streets team in Leeds. From your first day you'll join a community of experts, where everyone is supported in their career path and encouraged to work towards an accredited qualification. You'll help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients in the transport sector. While you'll have a great deal of responsibility from day one, we'll give you the chance to take on more as you progress and broaden your skills. 

You'll be part of a team that supporting engineers and other professionals to assess, design and supervise various multi-discipline projects across different geographies and portfolios. You'll work on a wide range of projects, from major highway and railway schemes to local authority public transport and active travel improvements. You'll help us to deliver effective and professional services using BIM processes for a range of varied and high-profile clients such as Highways England, Sellafield, Network Rail and many others. As part of your apprenticeship, you'll study towards a Level 4 qualification with an accredited provider. 

Our apprenticeships allow you to study for an academic qualification while working and learning alongside respected, technical professionals. You'll combine your learning experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. A dedicated mentor and our learning and development team will guide you through your personal and professional development. 

 

Production of engineering drawings and sketches, including computer generated 3D or 2D models using BIM software. 

  • Production of MicroStation and AutoCAD 3D models and drawings. 
  • Contributing to solutions for design challenges. 
  • Taking part in design meetings, site visits, presentations, and workshops. 
  • Managing projects using ProjectWise. 
  • Producing neat and accurate designs and technical drawings.  
  • Helping with the administration of projects. 

 

The Requirements: 

  • A desire to work in and Engineering office environment. 
  • Willingness to achieve professional qualification e.g. EngTech. 
  • Good numerical/maths skills. 
  • Good literacy. 
  • Ability to manage your own time and prioritise work at busy times. 
  • Practical awareness of the Civil Engineering environment.   
  • Adaptability.   
  • An interest in data and information management.  
  • Ability to think in a methodical way to design, plan and organise projects.  

 

Is this role right for you? 

Entry Requirements 
To be eligible for an apprenticeship, you must: 

  • Hold GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications in *English and Maths at grades A–C / 9–4**. 
  • Meet the specific entry criteria for the programme and level of study you are applying for. These requirements may vary depending on the apprenticeship level and training provider.
